LEBRON JAMES DONATES $2.5 MILLION TO THE MUHAMMAD ALI EXHIBIT AT THE SMITHSONIAN

LeBron James is the latest NBA superstar to make a huge donation to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.

The museum officially opened back in September and other well-known athletes who have made a contribution include Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson.

According to USA Today, James along with his charitable foundation and his business partner will donate a total of $2.5 million for the new Muhammad Ali exhibit.

James said to USA Today Sports, “Muhammad Ali is such a cornerstone of me as an athlete because of what he represented not only in the ring as a champion but more outside the ring — what he stood for, what he spoke for, his demeanor.”

He continued, “I think of him every day. Without his passion and goals and morals, I don’t know if I’d be sitting here today talking to you about it.”

The legendary boxer passed away earlier this year at the age of 74. The name of the exhibit will be called, “Muhammad Ali: A Force For Change.”
